Exploring our grief through art with Kathleen Buday

Wednesday, February 11, 6:30 - 7:30 pm EST

Holding Space for Grief

Grief and balance are deeply intertwined. Join us as we explore how to live alongside loss rather than overcoming it. You will be guided through a simple activity that invites conversation and connection. All are welcome, from no art experience to the seasoned artist.

Participants will need:

• Large piece of paper (around 11 x 14 or 18 x 24)

• Circle to trace (around 8” or 9” diameter)

• Oil pastels or crayons

• Any other materials you want to use!

• You’ll also need a paper and pencil/pen for reflections

… and a comfortable, quiet space.

This workshop is FREE to attend but registration (below) is required. A Zoom link will be sent once you register. This is not a therapy session. This is a safe space for those grieving to explore another avenue to release, be curious about, and sit with their grief through art.

More about the workshop facilitator: This workshop will be facilitated by Kathleen M. Buday, MEd, ATR-BC.

Kathleen is a board-certified art therapist and sole proprietor of Healing with Heart in Michigan. She has practiced for over 20 years with diverse populations including adults with HIV/AIDS, hospice patients and families, youth, adults coping with cancer, and bereaved individuals.

Through her work, Kathleen has promoted the value of the arts as a means of expression for all ages and abilities. She has witnessed how images have a unique non-threatening way to connect people and provide insights into our similarities as human beings. It has become her passion to help others to feel seen and heard, and to heal.

Kathleen publishes and presents on the topic of art therapy. She’s currently an adjunct professor for Wayne State University’s Art Therapy Program. To learn more about Kathleen visit www.kathleenbuday.com.
